What is Give Local?
Give Local South Puget Sound is an annual invitation for people across Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties to turn their attention—and generosity—to the vital work local nonprofits do every day. Each fall, Give Local brings neighbors together to learn about, connect with, and support the people and organizations working to keep our communities strong.
When you give during Give Local, you’re backing essential work that helps our region thrive. Since 2017, Give Local has raised more than $5 million—funds that stay right here, supporting the people and programs that build a better South Puget Sound. Local nonprofits have turned those donations into hot meals, warm coats, children’s books, medical care, clean rivers, solar panels, art, music, and so much more. At a time when fewer people are giving nationally and nonprofits are under immense strain, Give Local is our community’s way of ensuring nonprofits can keep showing up here where they are needed.
The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound hosts Give Local because we believe in the power of everyday people to make a difference where they live. Providing a platform for connection, highlighting volunteer opportunities, covering fees, and boosting local fundraising efforts, we are helping build a culture of local generosity where the joy of giving is for everyone.
