Investing in early learning and young families yields a substantial return on investment, benefiting not only the children and families involved but also the entire community.

Research from the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) and the Perry Preschool Project consistently shows that every dollar invested in high-quality early learning can yield up to $16 in long-term savings in underserved communities like ours through reduced spending on special education, social services, and criminal justice interventions. Children who receive high-quality early learning are more likely to enter school prepared, succeed academically, and graduate, which in turn leads to higher lifetime earnings and a stronger, more resilient workforce. By supporting early education programs, communities set the stage for economic growth, reduced poverty, and improved social stability.

Moreover, these investments positively impact parents and caregivers, supporting them as they build stable, economically secure households. Programs that support young families and early childhood development also contribute to better health outcomes, lower rates of chronic absenteeism, and stronger community ties.

When communities prioritize early learning, they cultivate a thriving foundation for their future, strengthening both social and economic structures for generations to come.
