Why Support Capital City Pride?

When you donate to Pride, you are actively helping to uplift and support local LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC voices by helping us create elevating and encouraging spaces where love and inclusion take center stage. Pride's mission is to cultivate a sense of belonging within our community and build a culture that cherishes radical love and acceptance. Capital City Pride is powered by the generosity and strength of our local community, volunteers, donors and sponsors. We work with local businesses, organizations and activists to create a safe space that challenges and liberates us from oppressive systems of sexism, homophobia, racism, transphobia, xenophobia, nationalism, classism, ableism and many more.

Throughout the year, Pride hosts 10 signature events that not only fund, uplift and highlight local LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC artists, producers and stage managers, but also create spaces of community, joy, connection, healing and safety. Capital City Pride hosts Olympia's annual three-day Pride festival on the last weekend of June.  Every donation we receive supports local artists, supports queer-owned businesses and helps us maintain one of the only zero-waste, dry and family-friendly Pride festivals in the region. With the help of our community we are able to compensate over 175 LGBTQIA performers, spotlight 160+ local queer-owned business and service providers, and partner with nonprofits, local community members and organizations that share our vision of love and belonging.  Our goal is too continue to uplift our LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC community, create jobs/learning programs and prioritize radical love, all while practicing environmental stewardship.
