Senior Services for South Sound

Founded in 1973, Senior Services for South Sound has been dedicated to supporting seniors in our community for more than 50 years. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for people as they age.

Our programs and services include Brighter Days Adult Day Program, Meals on Wheels, Senior Community Dining, Senior Transportation, Supportive Services, Health and Wellness Programs, Trips & Tours Program, Adult Learning, and Independent Living Programs.

The largest program we offer is our Senior Nutrition Program, provided in both Mason and Thurston counties. This program alone provides more than 150,000 meals each year to well over 2,000 individual seniors.

We are proud to provide dozens of activities at the Virgil Clarkson Lacey Senior Center and the Olympia Senior Center.

Our Impact

Thanks to the support of people just like you, in 2025 we:

• Served 173,311 meals from our kitchens to 2,156 seniors
• Paid out $62,552 in vet bills for 166 low-income pet owners
• Drove 251 seniors a total of 112,594 miles to essential appointments
• Helped 3,843 seniors navigate medicare
• Offered 244 unique classes and activities to 1,909 senior center members
• Provided caregivers of clients with Alzheimer's and other dementias 13,470 hours of respite
