Olympia Community School

Olympia Community School was established in 1973 and is the oldest independent school in Thurston County.

Our mission is to provide quality elementary education that inspires, motivates, and challenges students. We empower children to reach their potential by nurturing their natural curiosity and desire to learn, their belief in themselves, and their ability to participate fully in their community with respect for self, others, and the earth.

Our small size affords an opportunity for personalized, child-centered learning, and our two-year kindergarten program allows children as young as four to start their elementary school journey in a supportive environment.

Our small school relies on our tuition dollars to operate. We run on a cooperative, parent-run model, where the only paid positions are our fabulous teachers and teaching support staff. All administration, facility care, and other necessary work is provided by parents of students. Our fundraising campaign will go towards our general operating expenses, allowing us to offer tuition discounts to families who need help paying tuition.
