The Nisqually Land Trust protects and stewards lands to permanently benefit the water, fish, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed.

For over 35 years, the Nisqually Land Trust has worked together with our supporters, volunteers, local communities, and partners across the Nisqually Watershed to:
• Conserve and restore over 10,700 acres of wildlife habitat from Mount Rainier to Puget Sound,
• Protect 142 shoreline miles of river, streams, and marine nearshore,
• Plant over 420,000 native trees and shrubs, and
• Connect over 1,000 students to nature each year with hands-on experience in the field

Through partnership and collaboration, we have achieved an extraordinary level of protection in the Nisqually River Watershed. The support of our community is essential to our work. Your generosity allows us to keep conserving land, caring for the habitats we’ve already restored, and welcoming more people to experience the beauty and resilience of these places firsthand.

Your gift makes a real difference. Please consider supporting our conservation work with a donation to Give Local. Thanks!

Recent Conservation News

This year brought inspiring news — wild Nisqually Chinook, once thought lost, are returning. Led by the Nisqually Indian Tribe, our coalition of partners has spent two decades advancing an integrated salmon recovery strategy that unites habitat, hatchery, and harvest actions. This discovery renews our optimism and proves that years of dedicated conservation and collaboration are making a real difference. Read the full discovery article in our latest newsletter here.
