The Mayday Foundation

The Mayday Foundation provides immediate, practical financial support to local families coping with cancer while raising kids at home.  We believe that no family should be forced out of their home or into bankruptcy as a result of a cancer diagnosis.  The Mayday Foundation covers household expenses like rent/mortgage, utilities, gas and groceries for a short period of time.

Things have been very hard financially after being diagnosed with brain cancer on top of the melonoma. It means everything to me and my family for all the support and love . According to the National Cancer Institute, cancer is one of the most expensive conditions to treat in the US. As medical care advances, cancer patients are consistently offered more expensive treatments, escalating the stress associated with a fragile financial situation.

"I know I’ve said this before but I cannot thank The Mayday Foundation enough for the financial support you have provided our family. I have already missed two months of work and I know with surgery and radiation I will miss more work in the future. I had no sick or vacation time going into this (used for stuff with my son) so I knew I would be taking a lot of time unpaid.
