Give Local Thurston County – Support Love Covers!

This year during Give Local Thurston County, we invite you to help Love Covers continue stitching hope, creativity, and connection throughout our community. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to secure a facility of our own — a space where we can expand our programs, reach more people, and continue building community through the art of sewing and quilting.

Love Covers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in south Thurston County. We exist to connect people from diverse backgrounds through mentorship, creativity, and compassion — all centered around the timeless art of sewing. Every Love Covers event is free of charge, providing access to high-quality sewing machines, beautiful materials, and skilled mentors who guide participants through the creative process while fostering meaningful relationships.

Thanks to generous support from previous Give Local campaigns, we’ve grown tremendously! Last year, your contributions helped us expand our mobile outreach, purchase a trailer, and add more sewing machines — allowing us to bring Love Covers to even more communities across Thurston County.

This year, we’re reay for the next step: creating a permanent home for Love Covers. Having our own space will allow us to host more classes, welcome larger groups, and continue collaborations with local organizations such as the Chehalis Veteran Memorial Museum, Tenino Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and local pregnancy and women’s shelters. From patriotic quilts for veterans on hospice, to reusable tote bags and handmade baby blankets, every stitch we sew together strengthens the fabric of our community.
