Creating Connection Through Creativity

Love Covers is a 501c(3) non-profit organization located in south Thurston County, Washington. Love Covers exists to connect people from diverse backgrounds by forming mentorship relationships and sharing the joy of the creative process through the art of sewing. Love Covers provides the space, skilled mentoring, and all materials for people who lack access and opportunity to learn this skill and the life-long lessons woven within the art of sewing and quilting.

Love Covers events are always free of charge! From the use of high quality sewing machines in our classes to providing materials and skilled mentors at our events, our goal is simple: provide opportunities for anyone interested to create meaningful hand made items while making vital connections to others in our community.

Some of our events have attendees making their own project to keep. We provide quality material with lots of options that allow our participants the chance to show their own unique style. 

Other events are geared towards making items to support various organizations in our community. We hold sewing events at the Chehalis Veteran Memorial Museum where we make patriotic quilt blocks. These blocks are finished into quilts that are donated to a veteran on hospice at Madigan Army Medical Center. This allows everyone an opportunity to thank a soldier who has given so much to our country. 

We sew reusable grocery totes and drawstring bags for the Tenino Food bank. The senior meals on wheels program also receives place mats from our classes. 

Local pregnancy centers, women's shelters and transitional housing centers receive quilts, receiving blankets and handmade items made by our class attendees. 

4H groups, home-school students and Girl Scout groups join us in learning the art of creative sewing. 

We often host private groups that are looking for ways to give back to the community they live in. We can develop specific projects for these groups so that they can give to organizations they support. This broadens the reach of Love Covers!

We collaborate with other local nonprofits to support their mission and expand our own reach as well.
