Health & Hope Free Clinic providers first met Sam in 2016. He would stop by from time to time for minor urgent needs, but in 2018, he finally let us help him manage his diabetes. Together we worked on meal planning, medications, and education. His initial A1C was 9.5—far above the healthy target of under 7.0—and no matter what we tried, his numbers just wouldn’t come down. Then, in 2019, Sam bravely opened up about something deeper: he was struggling with alcoholism. That honest confession was a turning point. From that moment, God’s work began to shine through. With compassionate medical care, genuine encouragement, and prayer at every visit, Sam found strength and healing. 

In February 2024, he celebrated one year of sobriety—and his A1C is now an amazing 6.4.Stories like Sam’s are happening every day at Health & Hope. 

Our patients are hardworking members of the community—people who want to stay healthy, care for their families, and contribute—but who simply can’t afford insurance or the high cost of medical care. Because of your generosity, they receive the care they need to rebuild their health, their confidence, and their hope. Each patient we help not only avoids costly emergency room visits but also strengthens the well-being of their families and the entire Lewis County community.

Please, help us continue to “save” more lives. In 2024, 60 dedicated volunteers gave 3,004 hours across 595 clinic visits—delivering an estimated $368,354 worth of medical care. Health & Hope receives no federal funding. Every moment of care, every life changed, happens because of donors like you.
